The Sufferettes Take Toronto.

After all these years, we are finally doing our first full-legth show in Toronto. No other acts, no distracting bells and whistles. Just us, as we live and heave.

Fan Art.

by Serena Marie McCarroll

Following our victorious trip to London (we are attributing that claim to you, Adam Meggido), we Sufferettes have made some bold moves toward greater personal fame and fortune. Our current strategy looks like this:

1. Demand twitter followers

2. Demand fan art

3. Buy commanding outfits

Outcome: fame

We followed this by a demand for fan art. Within the last 24 hours, this has paid off mightily. Please join us in marvelling at the fruits of our pushiness thus far.

Want to join in on the fun? Do it! Just make some artwork of us based on photograph, memory or imagination and tweet it to us (@thesufferettes). This is how people get TV shows, right?

It's a Process, Not a Product.

This will only make sense to those who watched the London 50 Hour Improvathon.

Prigs in Space.

The Sufferettes just wrapped up our very first-ever endurance improv show - 50 straight hours of large-ensemble adventure as part of The London Jam. What an interesting experience it was. What thrills! What madness! Set on the intergalactic cruise liner, Xanadu, we experience genuine manic hysterics, performed through perceptive hallucinations and galavanted around in a surprising wealth of actual good narrative and relationship. We were extra fortunate to end up in long narrative arcs with old pals Chris Craddock and Tess Degenstein and new pal, Alex Bartram. We could get into tales of the hijincks our characters (Dame Heave Garbage and Nurse Fart Garbage from the planet Shrit) got into, but really, it would not make much sense. Also, lots of it is gross.

Huge thanks to Adam Meggido, Extempore Theatre and the entire production and support crew for making the festival and improvathon happen and inviting us into it all. Also to the fantastic cast of improvisers, a great many of whom were unknown to us before our rendezvous in Xanadu. We were blown away!

Pictured above is a collection of shots from the after party. This wasn't even close to the entire rotating cast for the weekend. Photos by Claire Bilyard, who also stayed up for most of the show to document our madness.

Oh, and for those interested in purchasing either Kitten Juice or tickets to the space premiere of Pippen!, please email our sales rep at kittenpippen@cthulhu.co.au.

London Calling Back.

We are coming back to London, friends!

The Sufferettes are going to be in London for ten days this January to do some shows, participate in a 50 hour improvathon and teach a bit.

We are also planning a show with our buddy Mae Martin. We will post more info about that soon.

Impending Sensibility.

As we prepare for our departure for Europe in a month, let us leave you with this, Toronto - A Sensible Gathering, our sporradic double bill with the fine young men of Big Fella, is going to have one more installment before we go.

For this show, our special guest is the inimitable David Dineen-Porter.

We have also enlisted the help of a crack team of make-up artists and hooligans to help us revive the make-over format we invented for Edomton's Improvaganza last year.

As promised, ticket prices are going up one dollar for each installment of A Sensible Gathering, so this one is $3. Get in on the ground floor before we start charging normal amounts of money!
