VideoHag.

Hey guys, the time is drawing nearer. On Sunday we take over Videofag in Kensington Market to present our own stand-alone show, VideoHag. It will be an hour-and-change long show wherein we make improv up based on archival footage found and curated by our friend, Zack Russell. It's the first time we have done a show that interacts with video, so we are pretty stoked.

We also want to give a huge thanks to Cheryl Hann for making the absolutely perfect poster above.

Doors will open around 7:30 and tickets are available for cash at the door.

Videofag is at 187 Augusta, just north of Dundas in the Market.

Dora Nominated Actresses

Just a couple of shots with our buddy, Nancy, from during and after our first ever Dora Awards. What did we learn? Never discount the celebrity status you can squeeze out of an awards night. Thank you, Nancy. And thank you to the whole cast and crew of All Our Happy Days Are Stupid for being the best team ever. Next stop, New York City! See y'all there in February.

Awards for the State.

The nominees for the 15th annual Canadian Comedy Awards came out today and we are very happy to announce that we got a few nods! We were nominated in the Improv Troupe category and we were both nominated individually in the Female Improviser category.

If you are a voting member of the CCAs, you can vote for us as of June 24th. But, given our counterparts in the individual category (Kirsten Rasmussen, Ashley Botting & Caitlin Howden) and troupe category (Rapid Fire Theatre, Die Nasty, Bonspiel & The Sunday Service), you may as well just close your eyes and click anywhere. It is outstanding company to be in.

We can't wait for the festival! See y'all in Ottawa in the fall.

The Sufferettes 2014 Tour of Toronto!

Friends, Torontonians, Countrypeople!

The Sufferettes are on the verge of launching our 2014 Tour of Toronto.

After years of spending our springs touring overseas, we have decided to spend this year at home and finally visit all the wonderful comedy shows (and more) in our fair city. Included in the tour are shows we have never done, some classic favourites and a little mutli-disciplinary action. Like what? well, we are designing a set for Trampoline Hall, screening videos at festivals and even interacting with archival video at our VideoHag show at VideoFag.

We also doing shows in various neighbourhoods and even a couple wherein you can come up on stage and do scenes with us!

We are very excited to adventure through our own city as we have through others and hope that you will all come join us. It's a great way to check out this amazing amount of comedy in this city.

For the full tour listing (which, yes, continues to evolve and grow) look here.

All Our Happy Days Are Nominated for Awards!

We are totally delighted to report that the play we were in together last year, All Our Happy days Are Stupid by Sheila Heti, was nominated for FOUR Dora Awards this year, Including Best Ensemble in the Indie Division (and what an ensemble it was). This is the first time either of us has been nominated. The whole project was very grassroots and lots of blood, sweat and white paint went into it, so the award nods are really great. And we get to go to the party!

This on the heels of an announcement that the original cast (of fourteen) will be going down to New York City in February for an American premiere supported by McSweeney's and The Kitchen. We can't wait!

Now to plan our outfits for the Doras...
