Impending Sensibility.

As we prepare for our departure for Europe in a month, let us leave you with this, Toronto - A Sensible Gathering, our sporradic double bill with the fine young men of Big Fella, is going to have one more installment before we go.

For this show, our special guest is the inimitable David Dineen-Porter.

We have also enlisted the help of a crack team of make-up artists and hooligans to help us revive the make-over format we invented for Edomton's Improvaganza last year.

As promised, ticket prices are going up one dollar for each installment of A Sensible Gathering, so this one is $3. Get in on the ground floor before we start charging normal amounts of money!

New Video Released!

Friends! It's here! Our brand new video, BEN.

We decided to release this puppy as part of the 2013 Rapide Fire Theatre Online Video Competition. For that reason, we would love you lots if you watch it, share it, like it, favourite it and/or comment on YouTube. All these things will help keep us in the running.

Huge thanks are also due to Allison Johnston who co-wrote, shot and edited the thing, Kathleen Phillips who joined us as a special guest star, Jesse Morrison who did the sound recording, The Bicylces and Morgan Waters for lending us music and Reverend Aitor for letting us invade his home to shot it.

Yay! Videos!

Teaser.

While you all are swooning over the Oscars, The Sufferettes have been working on a new video project. There's a little on set still above to pique your curiosity.

We are hustling to get this done in time to enter the Rapid Fire Theatre Online Video Competition. We are also hoping to submit this (or maybe something else if we want to make ourselves really busy) to the 2013 Laugh Sabbath Film Festival in June. Both of these companies are totally worth checking out for their prolific video and live work. Laugh Sabbath is also currently running an indiegogo campaign to fund their festival. You can pick up cool perks like cheap tickets to their live shows that come with complimentary drinks! Of course you can always donate to support any of the programming Rapid Fire, does, too. They can give you a tax receipt!

Oh, and when we say we are hustling, we actually mean our incredible director and editor and sound mixer, Allison Johnston, is hustling. Holy crap, is she amazing!

You should also check out our luminous guest star, Kathleen Phillips, while you wait for this vid to drop. She's a treat and a half.

Half Hearted.

A huge thank you to Reverend Aitor for delivering this absolutely stunning tour poster to us recently. The retired Reverend is notoriously difficult to find these days, so we are deeply honoured that he decided to take this project on with such fervour.

He also decided to name our 2013 tour 'Half Hearted'. Hopefully this name does not speak to our skill or commitment. We happily accept most insinuations of our dual brokenness.

Letters of Suffering.

Big News!

Our friend Jeff is visiting Toronto from Seoul, South Korea, and we have managed to finagle a double bill with him while he is here.

He is going to do some comedy, read some letters and generally be a charming giant.

We are going to do some improv, move our bodies in weird ways and then do something with Jeff.

It is all going to be really fun.

Suffermania.

Why did we not have the presence of mind to get a picture with Bret Hart last night? He stole the show at Catch23 as the third round guest and slam dunked every joke in our scene with him (wrestlers slam dunk, right?).

Instead, enjoy this one photograph of Becky with Rowdy Roddy Piper who guested in Mantown, beat up Jason DeRosse and proved himself to be just a lovely person.

Whoa. What a night.

What Bret Hart, Roddy Piper and The Sufferettes Have in Common.

We're all doing catch23 together tonight. What? We know. Crazy but true.

Bret "The Hitman" Hart and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper are stepping up to be the guest judges at our home-base show tonight.

Who wants to see what they make of The Sufferettes? We do.

We are also joined on stage by Peter Stevens, Gary Rideout Jr., Matt Folliott & Brendan Halloran. What a crew!

Oh, and there may be bagpipes involved.

Sensible Suffering.

Hey Toronto, this Thursday we will be debuting what we hope to be a somewhat regular improv show with some of our favourite improvisers. A Sensible Gathering will featuring a double bill with brand new improv group, Big Fella. Their group may be new, but the boys involved (Mark Little, Kyle Dooley, Conor Holler and Craig Anderson) are so cool, accomplished and good at stuff.

Plus, the amazing Kathleen Phillips is our special guest!

And since we booked this show on relatively short notice, we decided to make the price of admission a cool toonie! That price will not last. So git while the gittin's good!

Bookings for Spring 2013.

Hello Friends,

The Sufferettes have been hibernating (ie. doing tonnes of separate projects for a few months). But now we are making plans, like all hearty Canadian girls, to come out of our caves in the spring. We have some exciting booking in Europe and elsewhere to announce soon but we also have a little room left in our 2013 European tour. Want to bring us to your town? This might be possible.
Please send all inquiries to us here. We shall travel far and wide to bring our message of suffering, fashion and dance to the corners of the Earth!

Love,

Becky & Kayla
